Nightstand Online: What's New

September 15, 2003: One of these days I'll overhaul this site and actually add some stuff. For those who are fans of Tim Stack (the man who co-created Nightstand and played Dick), his show Son of the Beach came and went, and now season one of the show is on DVD. Despite decent ratings, FX started heading in a different direction. Tim Stack not being on TV on a regular basis is a travesty, but at least the shows they brought in since then haven't sucked either. You can get the DVD on amazon.com - a link will be posted as soon as we can get it up (oh no, people!).

January 26, 2000: It's sad when one of your best sites goes unupdated for such a long time. I apologize to all of you who've stopped by on occasion looking for a possibility of a new script or something like that. The past year has brought a lot of changes, and some minor updates to the site will indicate that, such as the new copyright announcing our portal.

We haven't forgotten about Nightstand, though. The problem is how do you develop a site on a show that won't ever provide new material again? The new script idea is good, but time has to be there for the scripts. Although no doubt we'll have another one of those from time to time, we've decided we'll need more.

Although updates can't and won't be as much as we've done in the past, soon we'll be introducing themed pages based on your favorite characters and some pages talking about the more popular actors and actresses, including some of the more recent works of theirs so if you're a fan of theirs you can keep up. We'll also post an occasional sound clip up (video's out of our league... sorry) and do our best to keep things going.

Part of the updating of this site included removing some dead links in terms of our forums and FFALP (they went the way of the buffalo as part of a downsizing of our site structure) and making sure all links pointed to our domain, which has been www.jjowebpages.com (add a /nightstand for the most current version of this site - all the old locations now point here though, so there shouldn't be a problem). We've also updated E-mail addresses, disabled the chat room while we wait for the new CFM IRC, and added a new article about Tim Stack's new show for FX (announced in November at our Yahoo! club... better late than never I guess).

We'd also like to note that it's a crime what E! has done to the show, moving it to a non-existant 2 AM time slot. An ironic move considering his old time slots in syndication, the fact that E! was so committed two years ago to the reruns. Replacing it with the True Hollywood Story is just sad.

February 14, 1999: In a risky move Nightstand Online goes for a newer, more billboardish look - we've tried to make it feel like you're reading off the Nightstand Billboard that graces the beginning of each show. It took quite awhile to get the dang thing to work in Netscape, and until Opera gets better it won't look right in that, but it's a major step in the right direction. If you're on Geocities, AOL, or CGI For Me you're reading this. We'll keep 'em all updated thanks to the wonderful world of local links. We'll also have links to all three in the links page in case one site is slow - this will ensure you'll never miss Dick!

This update also prepares the premiere of Judge Dick - this is completely different from the sample that I posted, most likely because the sample I posted was written six months ago and I forgot the concept of the preview I posted. The second episode of Judge Dick will follow the preview - the first is a surprise pilot to be finished by this time next week.

Finally, we've updated some links as part of the new JJO Webpages setup - some changes have occurred to somewhat hurt the FFALP - you can't access JJO the way it's currently setup - but we're working on fixing it now.

January 28, 1999: Wow - Dick would be ashamed. Another update is FINALLY here. Some minor updates during the break included the adding of a copyright and noting the copyright for Newz & Viewz on the bottom of the Thoughts page. Today's update is one that Dick would be proud of... we've added an article about Dick's Outburst! (Oh no people...) Tim Stack wrote/hosts Outburst by Hasbro Interactive. The article is now online and ready to read!

October 13, 1998: Holy smokes! It's been that long since an update? Man... am I ashamed. Well, at least the new design's here! Some new stuff will be written and added shortly.

July 1: New image map in place and linked correctly. Phil Hartman quote posted.

May 31: Announcement of the Nightstand award for May, along with a page to submit your entries for June to.

May 28, 1998: Script #3 posted along with script #4 preview, announced introduction of pages dedicated to each of the recurring characters.

May 26, 1998: Began this page as a way to show our growth. Announced coming of third script, added article number 3, added new link to the Nightstand sites page.
