I’ve gotten back into catching bits and pieces of Craig Ferguson’s show lately. Ever since the days of Craig Kilborn I’ve always favored The Late Late Show; I’m not sure why, but I always favored Letterman over Leno, so perhaps it’s an extension of that.

The way the show riffs and leads to recurring gags, such as the hotel bell and what happens with a set number of rings (“German… Still German… Dracula… Italian Bill Clinton” and so on) leads to some pretty amusing stuff, and his interview style is unique and entertaining.

I’ve embedded a few of my favorite recent clips, but overall I think it’s amongst the top late night shows; as Leno and Letterman feel more tired, and Fallon only intermittently amuses me, Ferguson and his team are delivering a consistent and funny show.
