Christmas Present: Fitz and the Tantrums’ “Santa Stole My Lady”

christmas-present-4

Our last Christmas Present of the year is the first recommendation to come from a Facebook friend and co-worker, Ashley, who shared some of her own selections with me recently and, added bonus, they were made available as free downloads this season.  Of them, I love most her recommendation of a 2010 track from Fitz and the Tantrums, “Santa Stole My Lady.”

The blasts of horns, throwback piano playing and jazzy vibe is a beautiful tapestry for a Christmas song, well sung and full of charm. The best part is, as of this posting, it’s a free download on their website – click here to visit their website and get the free download.

Ashley also suggested this track from Los Campesinos, “A Doe to a Deer,” which is also available as a free download.  I like the feel of this too, although “Santa Stole My Baby” is my preferred choice of the two.

Hat tip to Ashley for two wonderful suggestions.  Merry Christmas, everyone!

Tomorrow, so I can enjoy time with my family, will be a round-up of 2012’s selections (which will set the stage for next holiday season in 2013; we have a lot more recommendations to hit the 100 song mark!)
