Scott Bradlee and the Postmodern Jukebox performers continue to impress and delight, but I have to admit I’ve got a particular soft spot for Christina Gatti‘s takes on songs, especially her take on Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love.” So I was excited to see her latest contribution, providing vocals for a cover of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.”
She’s definitely one of the torch singers of the crew, vocally displaying raw emotion that brings out the power of the songs she sings. She’s a nice counterbalance for singers like Robyn Adele Anderson, who I particularly love on some of her upbeat selections, or recent vocalist Morgan James (seen below); each has a different vocal style that brings certain styles to life in an exemplary way, and it makes for quite entertaining listening.
Scott Bradlee continues to deliver the goods, and for those who want to see them live, they’ll be in New England and New York next month.
This band is SO consistently good! I wish I caught them at Toad’s a couple months ago. Dammit. Her voice. Wow.
