All-star benefit to help Sandy victims

One of Pixafy’s clients that I’ve had the pleasure of working with, Melanie Dunea, is photographer and author of the My Last Supper series and website. She has photographed many celebrities for magazine covers, book jackets, promotional advertisements and much, much more.  She’s also a lot of fun to work with, as well as a very kind individual.

In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, she donated some time to document the hard work that the Food Bank of New York City was doing, but she told me she felt like people’s attention towards and assistance for the victims of Sandy had faded, and more could be and should be done. She decided to do her part by assembling a roster of names that merges many of the worlds Melanie’s involved in, creating an event with star power that would make many quite envious.

Shame On Sandy – A Benefit is a variety show that features pieces and performances from some of New York City’s prestigious creatives, as well as food and drink from some of New York’s finest chefs and artisans.  The $150 ticket goes 100 percent to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City to help families hurt by Sandy.

Tickets are available now on Eventbrite; more details can be found on the My Last Supper website, and the roster will be updated as the event approaches.
