Here we go again: Pizza Hut’s Doritos crust

Recently I mentioned how the overseas arms of American restaurants haven’t given up on crazy combinations of food that can’t be good for you. Here’s the latest, courtesy of Pizza Hut in Australia: The Doritos Crunch Crust.

This is clearly a corporate synergy thing going on, considering Yum brands also owns Taco Bell. (Doritos, a Frito-Lay brand, used to share a corporate owner in Pepsi.) It’s also bizarre, as at least where Doritos are flavored tortilla chips, a small step from other mexican fare in the end, a pizza is a different genre altogether. I’ll let Australia keep their Doritos crust while we see what happens with Pizza Hut’s menu reinvention.
