Yesterday, I noted that I moved from Virginia to Connecticut 20 years ago this month. It occurred to me earlier this month that a number of personal milestones fall in June, for whatever reason; not just graduation from high school and the obvious stuff, but bigger things. Continue reading

Blocked from writing; the opposite of Writers’ block

It’s a great thing when you’re so busy that you have plenty of things to keep you occupied, but generally, that means the blog falls into the abyss.  Unlike other times, when I’ve actually been struggling to find topics, I actually have a dozen drafts in here of topics I’d like to flesh out (including my trip to see Andrew McMahon in concert last week), but unfortunately time has been limited.

Tuesday’s post is one I missed that was written but didn’t actually post for some reason.  I’m hoping to catch up this week!

I intended on posting a blog post about my dog, Scruffy, who passed away a few weeks back.  I wrote a long piece, held back on updating the blog for it… and then life got away from me, as it tends to. The Scruffy piece is basically done, so I’ll backdate it, but it’s time to get back into a rhythm, so more posts are on the way, starting tomorrow. I’ve got a backlog of music recommendations… some really good stuff too, so stay tuned!

Driving in snow

Today was a solid snowstorm; I spent most of it working inside so all was well.  But I had planned on making my way up to Hartford to see Zack for his birthday, a plan that ended in failure when it took way longer than it should have to get from Bridgeport to New Haven, and the roads for most of that were more wet than snowy. (The traffic cams showed much less attractive roadways up in Hartford.) Continue reading
