YouTube has everything: ‘You Don’t Know Jack’ TV show

In yesterday’s post I waxed nostalgic about “You Don’t Know Jack,” an awesome trivia game that has made a resurgence in recent years.  But many may not remember the short-lived TV version that aired on ABC for just six episodes in the summer of 2001. Continue reading

Classic You Don’t Know Jack goodness, thanks to Steam

you-dont-know-jack I had become aware of it when it first happened, but over the break I was finally able to act: most of You Don’t Know Jack’s classic editions had been re-released! In high school and college I spent countless hours playing the game “where high culture and pop culture collide,” so I was excited to get my hands on the classic editions again. Continue reading

Required listening: Ronika

ronika

While reading comments on the video to one of Annie’s newer songs, I noticed a reference by one commenter to U.K. artist Ronika.  While I normally don’t tend to follow up on these sorts of comments, the mention of the retro leanings and production caught my eye, so I began to look into her, and was pleasantly surprised with the results. As such, Ultra Nate’s story is pretty amazing. Continue reading

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zz7BJFRQB8

Although I’ve been a resident in New England for 20 years, it had never come to pass that I would spend the new year celebrating in New York City.  This year, I finally checked that off my bucket list. (The video above is not mine, but works for the purposes of the illustration.) Continue reading

YouTube has everything: Press Your Luck

press-your-luck

I was very big into game shows growing up; I loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, The Price is Right, Family Feud, and reruns of a number of gameshows that aired back in the day on USA Network. The discovery of GSN when I got to college created a further appreciation that introduced me to games of which I wasn’t previously aware, such as Match Game. Continue reading
